School counselors create school counseling programs based on four sets of standards that define the profession. These standards help school counselors develop, implement and assess their school counseling program to improve student outcomes.  These standards include mindset, academic, behavior, and career development.

This year Wellness lessons will occur in your child's classroom or in the Library.  The annual wellness curriculum can be found on this website.  It covers topics like problem-solving using Kelso's choices, healthy relationships, managing feelings using Zones of Regulation, positive communication, flexible thinking using Superflex and the MindUp curriculum, and many other life skills.

Individual check-ins will happen as well to fully support each and every child at school. I utilize Restorative Conversations to help kids work through peer-to-peer conflicts.   I can be reached anytime at Chumke@cvsu.org or 455-8819, ext. 4234.

Ms. Carly

This is my 8th year at NES and it's a pleasure to serve your community.  I drive from Worcester where I we raised 2 boys and my husband is currently a middle school math and science teacher in Montpelier.  We have built our home and spend a lot of time working the land for firewood, food, and beauty.  I enjoy nature in every form, playing board games, tai chi, yoga, and HIIT, learning the ukelele, cooking, and reading.
