Preschool

Welcome to Preschool!

NES has four sections of pre-kindergarten. Each session is about 10 hours per week.

During our time together children learn to play and learn with other children. We sing songs, make things and get used to be away from family. Circle time on the rug and snack time are important times of the day. We like playing house, work and swishing things around in water. We like clay and markers and glue. We love hearing stories. We love to sing songs and move our bodies together. Playing is our work and we like our work.

Newbie here, and I am thrilled to be part of the Northfield Elementary Preschool team!

I have been teaching preschool for 12+ years, and look forward to many more.

I believe preschoolers learn best within an environment that awakens their senses, expands their thinking, and celebrates who they are as learners. I enjoy bringing nature indoors, as well as inviting preschoolers to explore the outside elements.

When I am not teaching, I am with my family and friends. I have a cat named Tumnus, who enjoys leashed nature walks, food, and insists on yowling his day away. I love to read, and prefer a book over a Kindle. Coffee is my love language, with a dash of fresh baked bread.

So come say hi, roll up your sleeves, and learn right along with us; room 143.
